1970s Designer D'Orlan Large Eternal Life Ankh Pendant & Chain Necklace
Groovy vintage 1970's signed D'Orlan Egyptian revival silver tone Ankh hieroglyphic pendant on a triple link silver tone chain. This is the real deal! My aunt wore this in high school during the 70s. It was made for the 1976 Metropolitan Museum of Art's Treasures of Tutankhamun Exhibit/tour.
The ankh is the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol that was most commonly used in writing and in Egyptian art to represent the word for "life" and, by extension, as a symbol of life itself or eternal life. Ancient Egyptian culture was very popular during the 70s.
It is a very cool necklace! And it is a quality costume necklace with the D'Orlan stamp and tag on the chain.
It is in excellent condition.
